About Us
Establishment
The Establishment Subcommittee will coordinate a number of working groups including:
- Legal and tax structuring: associations, partnerships, mutuals, cooperatives, corporates, trusts and hybrid, including rules, constitutions, charters
- Financial reporting and management: treasury function, reports and software, tradfi integrations
- Membership: Application form, onboarding, membership / contributor framework, offboarding, consents
- DAO Plan (as opposed to business plan and as set out in the whitepaper): Legal and tax considerations of whitepaper sections such as tokens and token distribution events, fund/capital raising activities, operational activities / roadmap
- Governance: Initial and desired models of governance, reporting and evaluation of governance
- Content: Documenting and sharing content insights from all of the above
Pay to rely
The Pay to Rely Subcommittee will coordinate a number of working groups including:
- Legal and tax products: Liaising with legal professional bodies to ensure pay to rely model meets requirements under the law (e.g. costs agreements)
- Self insurance pool: Composition and pool management; claims process; educating insurance industry
- Product design: Develop frameworks and structures for various products that are "smart" (e.g. security token legal opinion; tax treatment papers) where a person that has "paid to rely" is updated where there is a change in an underlying input
- NFT design: Develop specification for customer to purchase NFT that reflects they have paid for the NFT (and linked works) and can rely on the advice contained in it for the purpose of claiming against the self insurance pool; revenue split between core contributor, peer reviewer pool, self insurance pool and revenue share/rewards/grants pool
Membership token
The Membership Token Subcommittee will coordinate a number of working groups including:
- NFT and UI design: Produchttps://img1.wsimg.com/isteam/stock/11569/:/rs=w:600,h:300,cg:true,m/cr=w:600,h:300e a specification for development based on best practice digital identity, decentralised identity and verifiable credential standards; data structure for attribute selection, attestation, verification and use; personhood verification; interfaces that assist with notifications for voting and nominating a representative / delegate
- Artwork: For membership token and various attributes
- Privacy: Privacy enhancing approaches to collection and use of member data and attributes
- Possession and control: Non-transferability and social recovery of the membership token
- Representative democracy in LawFi DAO governance
Community building
The Community Building Subcommittee will coordinate a number of working groups including:
- LawFi DAO communications: Sharing content, insights and opportunities; LawFi DAO discord server, twitter and LinkedIn pages; media strategy
- Policy: Various groups to discuss and prepare submissions to policy consultations around the world
- Circular merch: Sustainable approaches to merch, including for LawFi DAO members
- NFT children story books: Creative outlet to distil what we do in a language that we can speak to our children
- Social club: Virtual and in person meet ups or activities (e.g. soccer game, crochet club with coffee, dog walking)
- Gaming: Web2 v web3 games from a legal and tax perspective
